The Umbrella Academy Season 3: A Brief Intro

The Umbrella Academy is a Hollywood series was based on the comic book The Umbrella Academy that was written by Gerard Way. The comic was then transformed into a live-action series for Netflix by Steve Blackman and developed by Jeremy Slater.

The story revolves around a completely dysfunctional family of adopted siblings of 7 who were turned into superheroes to fight against all evil. The initial setting was in a stimulation, consisting of 43 pregnant women that are giving birth simultaneously on the first of October, 1989. The uncanny thing about the whole stimulation was the pregnant women were not suffering any symptoms of labor such as cramps or contractions.

The seven Hargreeves children were adopted by the eccentric billionaire, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, and turned the children into a superhero team called, “The Umbrella Academy.” The foster parent gave the children numbers as names but they were eventually re-named by their robot mother, Grace, like Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Five, Ben, and Vanya.

Reginald placed his children to fighting against crime whilst he keeps Vanya apart from her working siblings because she does not possess any power of hers. The siblings were reunited in order to solve the mystery of their father’s death and also a possible threat that might start an apocalypse to dawn in the world and all of the siblings will fight against it.

The show consists of 2 seasons and 10 episodes. Fortunately for the avid fans of the show, it does not just end there but there will be an upcoming third season for the hit Netflix Original and the fans are living for it! Despite the plot details being hidden from the world before the release, fans could not help but speculate about the Umbrella Academy’s cryptic title per episode and theorize some clues.

What the fans are also excited about are the both new and returning cast members of the popular series. The cast members also include the lowdown on the members of the dark and mysterious Sparrow Academy. Now, who would not be excited about that?

The Umbrella Academy Season 3: Release Date Speculation

The production for the third season of the show has begun back in February 2021, and the actor Elliot Page, posted on his Instagram that month, which he revealed that he was back on set. It was on August 2021, that the filming of the 10-episode series has wrapped up. The second season of the show was revealed to the world back in April 2019, and it started streaming in July 2020, so to carefully calculate and predict the release of the most awaited show, the production might be dropping The Umbrella Academy Season 3 around February 2022. But be warned, readers, an official announcement from the show’s production has not been released, yet.

The Umbrella Academy Season 3: Cast Members

The cast members of the upcoming season are Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin H. Min. Their roles still remain as the Hargreeves siblings. As for the actress Ritu Arya, she will return as Lila in the show. Lastly, Colm Feore has returned to the show as Reginald Hargreeves, as well.

The Umbrella Academy Season 3 Trailer: When Can The Viewers Expect One?

The trailer of the second season was released over a three-week span before the full second season has begun, so most probably, the viewers might have to wait for a few more weeks for the first teaser of the third season of The Umbrella Academy—perhaps in early 2022. But still, who knows? The Umbrella Academy Season 2 has soared the ranks in Netflix and became one of the most popular shows on the platform so in order to maintain the show’s momentum, the producers might have to release the teaser for the third season to keep the viewers hooked and retain the show’s position in its place.

The Umbrella Academy Season 3: Possible Plot, Speculation, and Theories

The second season of the show ended with the main set of characters managing to save the world once again. However, despite returning successfully from the year the ’60s back to the real-time, the year 2019, some things have changed. Instead of the formation of The Umbrella Academy, the character, Reginald formed the “Sparrow Academy” instead, which is a new group of super-powered beings that was revealed at the very end of the second season. The faces of the newly introduced set of characters were not exposed but most viewers speculate and are confident that Number One is alive again. The show-runner of the spectacular action-packed fantasy series revealed that the name of the premiere of The Umbrella Academy’s third season is “Meet the Family”, which implies that we may be getting to know the new characters of the new team probably sooner than we expected.

The fans were buzzing about a post of Justin H., on Twitter, which is a post regarding a tiny spoiler about the Sparrow Academy. With a tweet saying and I quote, “let the games begin” with an emoji of a bird and an umbrella, and attached to the tweet is a photo collage of the members of the upcoming cast of the Sparrow Academy. Do you smell a rivalry between the Sparrows and the Hargreeves in the third season? Because I certainly do!

The Umbrella Academy Season 3: Episode Titles

It was revealed by Netflix that the titles of the episodes of the upcoming and most awaited series are: “Meet the Family,” “World’s Biggest Ball of Twine,” “Pocket Full of Lightning,” “Kugelblitz,” “Kindest Cut,” “Marigold,” “Auf Wiedersehen,” “Wedding at the End of the World,” “Six Bells,” and “Oblivion” (not with the complete certainty that this set of names is in accordance of the order of the episodes).

Marigold is the root of all powers that the Hargreeves have and has been spotted in the series before (the time when Ben passed away). The title, “Oblivion” is also speculated with a deeper meaning which is the prison that Reginald built, called ‘Hotel Oblivion’. In a certain scene, a character named, Perseus X breaks out all of the prisoners or criminals that were locked inside their cells which could be a major conflict for the fourth season because they might be hard to be taken down.

Online paparazzi, Digital Spy, with fast eyes has also reported on a photo on set with the characters who belong in the Sparrow Academy, are standing over the character Luther, who’s lying on the ground alongside a streetlight that has been fallen to the ground.

Cast member Hopper, who plays Luther in The Umbrella Academy, also shared with PureWow that the third season will be an upgrade and has taken up the notch among other seasons of the series. He said that if anyone has ever seen the end part of the second season then he is betting that a tumultuous amount of theories will be piling up about what is about to take place in the upcoming third season of The Umbrella Academy.

The show-runner of the popular series has shared his excitement on a Netflix event called GEEKED Week because apparently, their team is doing greater things, wilder, and exciting things for the viewers to binge on. He mentioned that there will be some big surprises from the show such as more cryptic messages, objects, and scenes for people to make a bunch of theories about, and most importantly, the global viewers will see so much improvement in the Hargreeves family. Now, who would not be stoked about that grand announcement? Attention! We must keep our eyes peeled for this show!

As for the viewer’s expectations from the closing of the third season of The Umbrella Academy, a short video from the watching platform, Netflix, seems to tease the viewers with a mysterious ending. It is an ending even Emmy Raver-Lampman does not know about. With the quote: “I actually have no idea what’s gonna happen at the end, which is like, that’s the first time, you know, being in it and filming and kind of not knowing what the end goal is, is kind of, it’s great, I’m here for it.” The actors Elliot Page and Tom Hopper also shared some of their thoughts regarding the third season.

Tom Hopper and Robert Sheehan, who plays the characters of Luther and Klaus, were also asked about what they expect to happen in the third season, and they were very cryptic and careful about not spilling too many saucy details about some facts that the show-runners are hiding from us.

However, they still revealed what they were eager to see and possibly for us, as well. They mentioned that they wanted to do a feature-length episode, but they think that the idea would be far-fetched since it would not be easy to domineer over the dominating superhero movies at the box office.  Although in all honesty, I am certain that the audience would be willing to watch their favorite characters of the series as superheroes in a different proliferation.

Hopper added his thoughts on the popular show, The Umbrella Academy which is how grounded the show is and it is not just pure superhero stuff. It is diverse, full of action, puzzling scenes, and questionable plots, but all in all, a spectacular show to binge on with family and friends.

In the second season of the show, it was shown that the family of Hargreeves was transported back in the modern times although the family was actually looking forward to more time traveling extravaganzas and paying a visit to different eras. The actors have discussed how some of them wanted to go through different eras and one of them mentioned they wanted to visit the rocking Eighties as to what Hopper said in n interview.

The actor Sheehan then added to Hopper’s statement, that he would like the Hargreeves family to travel the Medieval times or the day they were all born, which is around the year 1987. Can you imagine the Hargreeves family in Medieval times? Wearing the era’s traditional clothing? Now that is what we are going to pay loads of money for since it would make a great concept!

With all of the cast’s ideas shared, the show-runner of The Umbrella Academy is quite happy and excited to take his show’s casts’ ideas as a basis for a story plot in the future, and who knows, they might actually actualize all of the brilliant and intriguing ideas. Hopper has also mentioned his close bond with the casts and their show-runner since they are just being themselves on the set.

The Umbrella Academy Season 3: The Bottomline

To sum it all up, Blackman, the show-runner, mentioned in GamesRadar some hints about the gist of every season of The Umbrella Academy, which are; Season 1 is all about meeting the family of Hargreeves, the second season is about getting to know the action-packed family, and lastly, the third season will be about who the family is, where did they come from, and what are they as superheroes.

All of us are eager to watch the third season and we could not wait any longer! How about you, reader? What are you expecting for the third season of The Umbrella Academy? Oh, I hope that it will be worth the long agonizing wait!
